STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters.... S.T.R
FYI... i received this info through my e-mail so i would like to share with u all since i think STROKE is common today. If everyone can remember something this simple,we could save some folks. Seriously..
Please read:
STROKE IDENTIFICATION:
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall, she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) .....she said she had just tripped
over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening.
Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ.
Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die, they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.
It only takes a minute to read this...
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can tally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke
recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify.Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when
people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke .
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE
(Coherently) i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
New Sign of a Stroke ------- Stick out Your Tongue
NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person
to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked',
if it goes to one side or the other , that is also an
indication of a stroke.
Hopefully with some information from me, will help people around you!

WHAT TEACHERS MAKE...
The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life. One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education. He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?"
He reminded the other dinner guests what they say about teachers: "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."
To stress his point he said to another guest;
"You're a teacher, Bonnie. Be honest. What do you make?"
Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, "You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...)
"Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.
I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor.
I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't make them sit for 5 without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental.
You want to know what I make?" (She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table.)
''I make kids wonder.
I make them question.
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.
I teach them to write and then I make them write. Keyboarding isn't everything.
I make them read, read, read.
I make them show all their work in math. They use their God given brain, not the man-made calculator.
I make my students from other countries learn everything they need to know in English while preserving their unique cultural identity.
I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.
I make my students stand, placing their hand over their heart to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, One Nation Under God.
Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life."
(Bonnie paused one last time and then continued.)
"Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, with me knowing money isn't everything, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant... You want to know what I make?
I MAKE A DIFFERENCE . What do you make Mr. CEO?"
His jaw dropped, he went silent.

authentic vs fake : brand or no brand
emmm.. last week i went shopping with friends... guess what?? my friend A prefered to buy branded things while another one (friend B) did not mind to have non-branded things as long she can gets the exact stuff with cheaper price. These two people were arguing each other coz A said she would prefer to wear branded one coz it makes her feels confidence while B said she just wasting her money since there are a lots of same cardigan with much much more cheaper price. at last i have to stop the 'war'by saying "hoi... udah le tu... duit korang.. korang nye pasal le". Then they stopped fighting.
as my personal view.. i don't mind to have branded stuff but i'll buy it with reasonable price and if it is too expensive i'll go for non branded with same design & yet...cheapest price..coz i know i am the type that easily getting bored with one things (not people k...) so i dont mind to have cheaper stuffs coz i will keep buying since i am a shopping-holic!!!

THE WRITER COLUMN
hi everyone...
writing is something that i dont like to do coz i'm not a gud writer and alwiz lacking of ideas. but after atttended a course organized by IKIM it seems like i have to start with this new hobby.. WRITING...WRITING & KEEP WRITING.
These are some reason why i think i have to write:
1) my profession which needs me to share my knowledge with others through writing other than talking.
2) Sharon Bakar (one of the speaker of the course i attended last day). She said.. not to worry if no ones read ur writing but keep on writing becoz mayb one day ur child might read it... (which i think true coz it happened to me.. i'm proud with my dad that has wrotes a lot of things.. articles, books, poems, even cartoons!!!)
3) Sharon also said that i dont have to worry with what people think of what u have write. Just continue writing coz "banyak udang, banyak garam, banyak orang banyak ragam". Some people will appreciate ur writing & some people not.. so thanks to those who love it and hope those who are not will change their perception one day.
4) Sharon added that dont worry with ur grammar, punctuation, spelling becoz as long as people understand what r u trying to deliver... it's fine.
5) This is one way to improve my English..
6) Last one... is becoz i'm in the writing mood!!! This makes thing better!!!
so.. READERS!!!! need ur feedback. give ur comments pls so then i will be motivated to keep on writing.. c u tomorrow..
